Another new beer for 2016, Obolensky, a 7.3% Imperial Stout named after Prince Alexander Obolensky a Russian prince who played rugby for England scoring 2 tries against the All Blacks on his debut in 1936 aged 20. At the outbreak of World War 2 he joined the RAF and was killed during training in Suffolk. His first try against the All Blacks is regarded as one of the finest ever scored by England. Most of test brew has already been ordered by our friend deadly Doug but there are a few dozen bottles available.
Going into barrels today our All Black IPA dark English malts packed with New Zealand Pacific Gem hops a tribute to the late Jonah Lomu – the man who changed rugby for ever!
11 o’clock Award winning Rucked in copper, Lomu Black IPA tastes wonderful and on chill ready for racking Monday and thermal curtain put up on fermenting room, not a bad mornings work
