We’re tying up with the Railway in Congleton to produce a new beer for Congleton’s Big Beer Weekend 1st-3rd July, going to be an all English hopped 4%ish bitter unless I change my mind and fire off another 7%er
If your in the Congleton area try to get to the Barley hops a barrel of Collapsed that we’ve held back for nine months is on the bar and is absolutely stunning and very dangerously easy to drink, be quick because it won’t last long. Happy hangovers!
Keep your “craft beer” kettle’s full of traditional English bitter wort with loads of
lovely Goldings hops waiting for it to come to the boil, next job is racking Pause our chocolate stout
Meet Charlie our latest member of staff, adopting the same position that Midge spends most of his life in
1st taste of Obolensky 7.3% Baltic Porter in cask at the Barley hops yesterday, absolutely gorgeous the only problem being after 4 pints of Manning’s Man Up, very tasty, while watching rugby 4 pints of it did a little bit of damage especially to Dave Manning. Hope he didn’t get too much grieve when he got back to White Lion
Busy time delivering to new customers yesterday, new places to try our beers include The Yew Tree Bunbury, The Red Lion Hogmaston, Kings Lock Middlewich, Red Lion Winsford and The Bowling Green Northwich along with regulars like Barley Hops & Railway in Congleton, Ale Corner in Hanley, Little Vic in Newcastle, The Fountain in Leek and Spitting Feathers two brewery taps. With brewery swaps with Bridgehouse Brewery from Yorkshire, Grafton from Worksop, Springhead from Notts and Downton from Wiltshire Front Row are spreading their wings further afield so if you try any of our beers let us know where and we can give them a mention.
Apologies to all the wives and girlfriends from Congleton Rugby Club whose Saturday night we ruined, it would appear that your men folk aren’t used to drinking full strength beer and “Rucked” did what it says on the tin! Apparently Dennis Lee couldn’t talk or walk without Kim’s help
I think I need a bigger mash tun! First brew of Lomu 5.4% All Black IPA all sold, very good reviews from Manchester Beer & Cider Festival. Will be available in bottles from next week along with Obolensky 7.3% Imperial Baltic Porter
